Are you currently unhappy? Not felt simple happiness in a while? Any reason why?

Probably because what you desire seems attainable. This is not enough reason to get trapped in that gloomy state; why not review the situation change your understanding of it.

You may have come across a video of kids situated in a poor local community playing and laughing without a care of what their environment portrays them as.

They draw happiness from the fun they are currently having, the presence of family and friends, and food in their bellies. If their situation does not prevent them from experiencing genuine and simple happiness, then why should you be unhappy?

According to Ben Franklin (1706-1790), happiness consists more in small conveniences of pleasures that occur every day, than in great pieces of good fortune that happen but seldom to a man in the course of his life.

Dwelling in our minds and thinking, happiness resides inside all of us. The feeling has no external connection, but the joy derived from our thoughts. The advantage this brings is the fact that our happiness is our own doing.

You can begin by carefully scrutinizing things, people, and events that bring you genuine happiness and occupy these thoughts. Never disregard the little or basic things regularly taken for granted.

Regularly train yourself to replace negative thoughts with positive ones. When a wave of sadness hits you, remove them, and give way to happier thoughts to sweep them all away.

There is always pleasurable experience that we can replace with sad thoughts, and there are other hidden gratifications just around us. You only need to reach out to experience this simple happiness hidden all around us.

According to Nathaniel Hawthorne (1804-1864), happiness is like a butterfly which, when pursued, is always beyond our grasp, but, if you sit down quietly, may alight upon you.

Develop appropriate principles and work by these rules.

Give love to your fellow humans, and if that seems quite tricky, be tolerant, at least.

Never give too much energy to what brings you nothing but unhappiness, appreciate every little thing as this will help you experience simple happiness.
